Server Virtualisation
Assessment of key line of business applications to establish suitability for virtualisation and create a migration plan onto existing virtual infrastructure.
The business and its IT teams recognised the potential complications raised by a small number of applications hosted on legacy infrastructure and requested experienced professional services to assess and architect a tailored plan of migration.
Virtualisation of server workloads took place in conjunction with robust communication and testing plan, resulting in servers virtualised with minimal downtime (through synchronous replication and cutover methods being used) and clean exit from the legacy hardware.

The result
Outcome
Line of business applications hosted on resilient architecture. Analysis work undertaken provided a greater depth of understanding of how the application functioned and who was using it.
The IT teams were able to better service the application and its service owners through improved data now available in the Change Management Database (CMDB); complementing the IT Service Management (ITSM) model in use.
