What we did
Business Objective
Increase the visibility and availability of service operations documents and information to administrative and operations team members. Eliminate out of date information being made available.
Technical Objective
Migration of legacy Microsoft SharePoint sites to a new site collection based on modern SharePoint capabilities allowing for consolidation, rationalisation, increased performance and availability.
Project
SharePoint Migration
The Fire Service legacy SharePoint sites were hosted on a soon to be End of Life solution. An assessment was carried out for suitability for an automated script to be developed, which was adapted to migrate structure and data from legacy to greenfield sites.
The project was fully managed to ensure the business and team stakeholders were communicated with, and each stage of the project was gated before proceeding to the next. The business was requested to assess data before migration, markup for future validity (with the aim to deprecate were no longer applicable or required in line with data retention policy) and be part of the project to provide acceptance testing post-change.
