Ensure the latest and supported applications, operating systems and their associated security patches are applied across all devices (server and user devices). Maintain an up to date record of policy and configuration management.

Project
Upgrade existing management system, deployment of updated operating systems to distinct operational networks.
The existing systems management solution was to upgrade to Microsoft SCCM 2007, ensuring ongoing supportability and enhanced configuration management capabilities.
Once established the new system was used to roll out an operating system refresh with zero data loss, retaining existing hardware and providing the user control as to when the deployment occurred. Users were able to select an appropriate time and the upgrade occurred automatically during their lunch hour.

Outcome
Implementation of supported operating systems and applications; available to users and IT functions alike, for stability, security and enhanced features/functions.
Refreshed desktop operating system across the entire estate, with zero data loss and zero impact on Command operations.
Systems management solution upgraded to ensure on-going supportability and provide greater insight to configuration management and patch deployment for applications and operating systems.
