Challenge & Approach

What we did

Business Objective

Completion of Transitional Services Agreement (TSA) of two business entities; whilst maintaining operating capability of all team members during transition activity

Technical Objective:

Infrastructure separation, including network refresh of global campus offices and server reconfiguration to the refreshed network.

Services

  • Project Management
  • Business Analysis

Project

Campus office separation;

Globally, each campus office would have a new network and existing services (corporate systems, labs, development environments etc.), were to be migrated on to this, achieving technical separation.

A systematic approach to the discovery, design and implementation of the new network architecture was undertaken with parallel effort taking place to assess the existing servers and services. Working with the business plans were agreed and actioned, physically and logically transitioning to the new network within an agreed change window.

Extensive engagement with each business function at each location to understand how systems worked and the impact of having systems offline for any length of time. Use of a comprehensive communication and change management plan, tailored for the project to ensure all stakeholders were informed of upcoming changes and were involved, in partnership, in the success of each change.

The result

Outcome

Technical separation of each campus and hub site globally. Campus based services available via a refreshed resilient networking infrastructure and hosted systems available via redundant Internet connectivity delivered to a redefined corporate standard.

Full design for each site including knowledge provided to business and IT functions for ongoing management and enabling digital transformation programmes to be established.

Management of this engagement was completely remote, delivered with local IT capability from customer, partner and other third party organisations.
